Our founder, Omid Samadijavan, has been building things for as long as he can remember. As a curious boy in Iran, he was always making something with his hands, a working film projector, a little cinema for the neighbourhood children to gather in. If something didn't exist, he tried to create it. That instinct never left him.

He carried it into his studies. Training in animal sciences, he was drawn to the practical side: engineering projects and laboratory work. One university project stood out. Asked to design a device for the artificial insemination of sheep, he built it himself with basic tools, and it went on to earn national research funding and recognition as an innovation. It also taught him something that would shape his whole career: an invention means little until it reaches the people who need it.

So he chose experience over the comfort of the lab. He spent years in the field, on dairy farms, in poultry houses and feed mills, and later representing international animal-nutrition companies. The more he saw, the clearer one ambition became: rather than build other people's brands, he wanted to build his own.

That ambition became Agrovet, founded in Vienna in 2009. He chose Austria for its stability, its science and its trust, and it has been home ever since.
